Legoland Proof Home Education Status

UPDATE MARCH 2015 I UNDERSTAND THAT THE MERLIN GROUP ATTRACTIONS - OF WHICH LEGOLAND IS A PART - NOW REQUIRE A LETTER FROM YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITY AS PROOF OF HOME EDUCATION STATUS. PLEASE CHECK WITH THE VENUE IN ADVANCE.

The following text was checked with Rachel Burgess at Legoland on April 23rd 2014:
When you book over the phone to get your home education discount for Legoland (Monday to Friday term time only) you will now be asked to bring proof that you are home educating when you turn up on the day. This marks a change to the previous policy and has been introduced because Legoland had become aware that non-home educators were also making use of the discount.

Legoland has confirmed that any of the following would be acceptable as "proof". NB these are examples rather than a checklist since Legoland recognises that some families may be happily home educating without this paperwork. You should agree a mutually acceptable form of "proof" when you make your telephone booking.

  • Evidence of membership national home education organisation (eg email printout/copy of quarterly charity bulletin/newsletter)
  • Evidence of membership local home education group
  • Evidence of dialogue with local authority about home education
  • Evidence of asking school to take child's name off school roll
